Blake Shelton’s “Ol’ Red” is a vivid country narrative about a prisoner’s clever escape plan involving the warden’s prized bloodhound. Released in March 2002 as the third single from his self-titled debut album, the song became a fan favorite and is considered one of Shelton’s signature tracks. The accompanying music video, directed by Peter Zavadil, was filmed at the Tennessee State Prison and features cameos by NASCAR driver Elliott Sadler, producer Bobby Braddock, and songwriter Kirsti Manna.
