Angus & Julia Stone – From The Stalls (2015)
Directed by: Kiku Ohe
Today, critically acclaimed Australia duo Angus and Julia Stone premiered their official video for their new single “From The Stalls.” Directed by Kiku Ohe, the video was shot in a small town in South Australia over a period of 5 days and nights, documenting on film the spectacular sunsets and sunrises in the Southern Hemisphere.
“We knew that film combined with this kind of location would be magical and tell a beautiful story,” said Julia, “us, in a little boat in the big ocean, with the sunset. It wasn’t until the next day that our mate told us they’d spotted a 15 foot Great White out there a few days earlier!”
Shot in an undisclosed rural part of Southern Australia, also a favorite spot of Angus and Julia’s, the duo wanted to capture the untamed wild, both ocean and forest, night and day, Julia continues “there are so many memories from making this video. A place we love, with people we love and a song that means a lot to us.” The stunning new single “From The Stalls” is available now on iTunes.
Since the release of their latest album, simply titled “Angus and Julia Stone” — produced by the legendary Rick Rubin — the band have been touring the globe, selling out venues far and wide, including 6000+ capacity venues across Europe and Australia. Their current album has reached Platinum status in Australia and Gold in France, reaching #1 in both countries alongside Switzerland. The album also went to #2 on iTunes in Botswana, #3 on iTunes in Belgium and Luxembourg and #4 on iTunes in Germany.
Earlier this year the band played Coachella Festival in Indio, California and will be returning to North America in June to play New York City’s Governor’s Ball on Saturday, June 6th and again this summer for Chicago’s Lollapalooza Festival on Sunday, August 2nd.
