CARRIE UNDERWOOD – SO SMALL
CARRIE UNDERWOOD – SO SMALL (2007)
Directed by: Roman White
A poignant country-pop ballad, “So Small” explores the realization that many of life’s perceived problems are minor compared to the importance of love and connection. Directed by Roman White, the 2007 music video features a narrative where a teenage girl, after a fight with her mother, walks down a road contemplating suicide. Two cars approach from opposite directions, driven by a man and a woman, both dealing with their own personal struggles. As the girl steps onto the road, the woman swerves to avoid her, leading to a collision with the man’s car. Time freezes at the moment of impact, allowing each character to reflect on their choices. Ultimately, the scene rewinds, the girl steps back from the road, and all three characters return home to reconcile with their families. The video premiered on CMT on September 20, 2007, and was played continuously for six hours, totaling approximately 66 airings.
