Eliot Sumner – After Dark
Eliot Sumner – After Dark (2015)
Directed by: Flat-e
Today, Eliot Sumner premiered the music video for her second song of 2015, “After Dark“. The video layers shadowy, refracted visuals over the dark uptempo of the song, which originally premiered on Billboard. This video follows the release of the music video for “Dead Arms & Dead Legs“. “After Dark” is available for purchase via digital partners now – PRESS HERE to buy on iTunes.
“‘After Dark’ is a song about reaching the point of no return in an evening,” said Eliot. “I am an extremist, so it’s very difficult for me to do things in moderation.”
Eliot’s EP Information, which was released in 2015 via Cherrytree/Interscope still bore some of the synth-pop hallmarks of her output as I Blame Coco, but its release captured a new audience with a renewed sense of focus and clarity. There are some more sophisticated influences on the record, from her favorite band as a teenager, the Bad Seeds, to bands like Cluster, Faust, and Kraftwerk. Following the release of the EP, Eliot joined Lykke Li as support on her European tour dates. The backstage antics of Eliot and her band were captured in a three-part behind the scenes documentary that featured on i-D, “On the Road with Eliot Sumner and Lykke Li” PRESS HERE to watch.
“After Dark” is the second track from Eliot’s upcoming album. She will be releasing two more sets of songs and music videos this summer – watch this space for more.
