Dr. Beat is the breakout single by Miami Sound Machine, fronted by Gloria Estefan, released in July 1984 as the lead single from their first English-language album, *Eyes of Innocence*. Written by drummer Enrique E. García and produced by Emilio Estefan Jr., the song blends Latin rhythms with dance-pop elements, creating an infectious track that became a dance-floor staple. The accompanying music video, directed by Steve Minor, features Estefan being rushed to a hospital where doctors attempt to cure her dance fever, symbolizing the song’s energetic vibe. “Dr. Beat” achieved significant success in Europe, reaching the top 10 in several countries, and marked the group’s first major international hit.
