Lxury & LA Priest – Show
Lxury & LA Priest – Show (2015)
Directed by: Eoin Glaister
Lxury and LA Priest collaborate at their best in ‘Show’, set for release this week via pedigree imprint Greco-Roman.
‘Show’, the colourful yet sultry new jam from Lxury and LA Priest, is sure testament to the pair’s mastery of contagious hooks and cosmic clamour. Early demos of Priest’s album Inji found their way into the paws of Lxury, and swiftly afterwards the two began to conspire, with a collaborative endeavour promptly em-barked upon.
LA Priest – Sam Dust, previously of Late of the Pier, genre-blending pop-upending intergalactic soundsmith.
Lxury – Andy Smith, melodious M4 techno slash daisy age house music aficionado.
A fine match indeed.
The release arrives by way of the esteemed Greco-Roman collective, and comes complete with a canine-fuelled video accompaniment.
The track itself proffers an infectious and stocky electronic groove, with Priest’s silky vocals chasing the tails of the synth-led adornments and atmospherics; while the indelible off-kilter bass lick tugs and strains at its leash throughout.
“It all happened pretty quickly,” says Lxury, “we wrote most of the track in an hour or so, then finished it off at Sam’s studio as well as writing some more material too. We eventually got down to work on tracks from Inji but we couldn’t help but dive back into new ideas, some of which will hopefully see the light of day at some point. After the sessions at Sam’s we did nothing with the tracks for a while and it was only when I played an early demo of Show on the Greco-Roman NTS show that I realized it was too good to be forgotten, so that was when we got back in contact and finished it up.”
