MILK OF THE SIREN is the sixteenth and final track on the deluxe edition of Melanie Martinez’s third studio album, *PORTALS*, released on April 5, 2023. Originally titled “Sirens,” the song was co-written by Martinez, Jeremy Dussolliet, and Tim Sommers, with production by One Love. The track blends elements of dark pop, ambient, trap, industrial pop, and downtempo, creating a haunting and immersive soundscape. Lyrically, it delves into themes of feminine power and societal critique, using siren mythology as a metaphor for reclaiming agency and confronting patriarchal structures. The song gained popularity among fans even before its official release, due to a leak in 2021, and has since been praised for its bold narrative and atmospheric production.
