Released in January 1994, “It Ain’t Hard to Tell” was the second single from Nas’ groundbreaking debut album *Illmatic*. Produced by Large Professor, the track samples Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature” and blends smooth jazz with East Coast boom bap. The music video, directed by Ralph McDaniels, pays homage to *Wild Style*, the first Hip Hop motion picture, and features Nas rapping on the same stage used for the film’s iconic final scene.
