Saint Etienne’s new single “Take Me To The Pilot” is a dark, propulsive escape fantasy, co-written and produced with Paul Hartnoll of Orbital and Tim Powell of Xenomania. The video, directed by Alasdair McLellan, stars breakdancer Jet and unfolds as a pilgrimage from Doncaster’s suburban bungalow to the Vatican’s Piazzas and angel sculptures in Rome—an enigmatic journey of reinvention and mystery, echoing the band’s invitation to “find out who’s the pilot.”
