9 to 5 (Morning Train) is a 1980 pop hit by Scottish singer Sheena Easton, written by Florrie Palmer and produced by Christopher Neil. Released as the second single from her debut album, *Take My Time*, the song narrates the daily routine of a woman eagerly awaiting her partner’s return from work. To avoid confusion with Dolly Parton’s song of the same name, it was retitled “Morning Train (Nine to Five)” for its 1981 U.S. release. The track became Easton’s breakthrough hit, topping the Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts in the U.S., and reaching number three in the UK. The accompanying music video, directed by David G. Hillier, features Easton performing on a train, complementing the song’s narrative.
