Emerging artist, Siahna possesses all the qualities a fan of an indie pop culture could desire, she dominates with a rich, soulful voice dripping with a texture that conveys her heartfelt, deeply personal lyrics in a way that resonates with the listener.
Add to that a bright, relatable, charismatic presence to deliver it all and you have an audience that is invested.
When asked how longs she’s been singing, Siahna jokes that she’s been singing since she was in the womb but clearly recalls one of those “aha, crazy moments” of realizing her calling as a musician starting in third grade while watching a video of Ray Charles performing “America the Beautiful.”
Season 9 of NBC’s The Voice gave Siahna her opportunity to shine on a national level with the then 15 year old songstress taking the stage and belting out a smoky and eloquent rendition of Fever.
Siahna says she wouldn’t change her experience on The Voice for anything as it taught her to cope with high pressure situations and enabled her to grow as an artist and gain recognition. Currently enrolled in online running start studies with Green River College the teen dreams of the day when she can fill arenas with people who can connect with her music. For now, she’s looking forward to releasing her first EP which is a matrimony of her soulful voice paired with a pop/alternative ambiance.
Veteran writer-producer Yakup Trana witnessed Siahna’s talent and strength of presence clearly when he signed Siahna to Arena Music, an indie label located in Seattle, WA. Together the team is releasing her debut single, “Warrior,” an uplifting, anthemic song about finding strength within yourself. “I was inspired by the obstacles that I have faced. It was written as a reminder that no matter what I go through, I am strong and I can get through any challenges that come my way. My goal is to be an inspiration for youngest anyone going through a challenge whether it be big or small.”
The remainder of the songs on Siahna’s debut EP “Journey” which will be available early 2017, burn with similar intensity, bolstered by the music’s urgent, driving sonics. “’Circus’ is my favorite on the EP because of its unique melody and the quirky emotion that I relate to.
While ‘WWWM’ is about being stuck in a rut and feeling you cannot get out. ’WWWF’ is a catchy, upbeat song with dark lyrics.
I find this contrast pretty funny.
Next is ‘Untouchable’.
This is about that one couple that just seems to have their life together.
Finally, ‘Fugitive’ is about a girl you don’t want to mess with.
I’m so incredibly excited for everyone to hear this EP.
