SZA’s “Kill Bill” is a standout track from her second studio album, SOS, released on December 9, 2022. The song draws inspiration from Quentin Tarantino’s film duology of the same name, with lyrics exploring themes of jealousy and revenge. The accompanying music video, which premiered on January 11, 2023, was directed by Christian Breslauer. It pays homage to the Kill Bill films, featuring SZA as a character reminiscent of “The Bride,” portrayed by Uma Thurman. The video includes martial arts sequences and a cameo by Vivica A. Fox, who appeared in the original movies. “Kill Bill” achieved significant commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in April 2023, marking SZA’s first chart-topping single in the United States. The song also topped the Billboard Global 200 chart and was among the top three best-selling singles worldwide in 2023. In April 2023, a remix featuring Doja Cat was released, adding a new rap verse that continues the storyline of the original track.
