“King” strips GRADES’ synth-pop down to its most vulnerable arrangement, trading the UK producer’s usual club-ready shimmer for something closer to confessional bedroom pop. Director Taichi Kimura matches that intimacy with handheld footage of frontman Jack Ritchie wandering through neon-lit Tokyo streets and empty train platforms, the city’s scale dwarfing him in every frame. The video feels less like a performance piece than a diary entry filmed in a foreign country.
