“Makeba” fuses Congolese rumba guitar with stuttering electronic beats, establishing Jain as one of the few French pop artists mining African diasporic sounds without pastiche. Directors Greg et Lio built the video around stop-motion choreography that syncs Jain’s body to the song’s percussive jolts—she pops and locks through Toulouse’s streets in a single outfit, her movements isolated frame by frame. The track’s title honors South African singer Miriam Makeba.
